Russian service provider Rostelecom has launched its first smart TV app for the LG platform.
Rostelecom’s Zabava TV app will enable owners of LG smart TVs to watch over 120 public and commercial channels in digital quality as well as providing an EPG, live pause and rewind, and a three-day catch up TV service.
Channels available via the app include TV XXI Vek, Yevrokino, Amedia, Travel & Adventure, National Geographic, Discovery’s family of channels, Animal Planet and Eurosport.
The app will also give access to Rostelecom’s video-on-demand library.
Rostelecom media assets chief Andrey Golovanov said that the company planned to develop smart TV distribution further in the future. The company plans to add HD, adult and football services to the offering in due course.
