Netflix is teaming up with Nokia to give UK buyers of the phone maker’s latest smartphones free access to the subscription video-on-demand service.
The offer, which is available via Vodafone, will give new customers who buy a contract for Nokia’s September-released Lumia 1020 Windows Phone a 12-month free subscription to Netflix.
The operator will also give a 6-month Netflix subscription to customers that buy the June-launched Nokia Lumia 925 or the August-released Nokia Lumia 625.
UK mobile phone retailer Phones4U is also offering six-months of Netflix to Nokia Lumia 1020 and Nokia Lumia 625 customers.
The Financial Times, which first reported the tie-up, said that Nokia is running similar Netflix campaigns in other countries, including Finland, where it working with operator Gigantti on a similar six-month deal for buyers of Nokia’s Lumia 625 handset.
