QVC Germany boss set to retire

The CEO of QVC Germany, Dr. Ulrich Flatten, is due to retire at the end of 2013 after 12 years at the home shopping network.

QVC said that it will look for a successor to Flatten in the coming months and will consider internal and external candidates for the job.

From early January, QVC Europe Steve Hofmann will take on the QVC Germany CEO duties on an interim basis.

“Ulrich has offered to be available to the team through the transition, and we are happy to have Ulrich’s support as an option. We thank Ulrich for his many years of service and leadership to QVC, and wish him all the best for the future,” said QVC President and CEO Mike George.

The news comes just days after QVC promoted QVC Italy’s chief merchandising officer, Gregg Bertoni, to CEO of QVC Italy. He starts his new role effective January 1, 2014 and succeeds Hofmann, who has been holding the dual roles of CEO of QVC Italy and CEO of QVC Europe since May 2012.
