Fox passes 200 million

Fox International Channels (FIC)’s Fox entertainment channel has now passed over 200 million homes following the addition of 60 million homes over the last year, according to the company.

About two thirds of the homes that receive the Fox channel are outside the US. Fox said its overall portfolio of pay TV channels, including Fox, National Geographic Channel, Fox Life and Fox Sports, now reaches 1.6 billion homes globally.

Fox said its expansion plan for the Fox general entertainment channels, including the rebranding of existing channels and the launch of new ones, had increased its distribution from 140 million to 200 million.

Fox, which will be the exclusive pay TV broadcaster for the October 14 premiere of zombie drama The Walking Dead, is now present in 49 feeds covering 125 countries, following its launch in The Netherlands, and rebrands in the UK, Norway, Russia, Greece and the Balkans.

Separately, Fox has teamed up with Israeli producer Keshet International, the maker of Homeland, for a US adaptation Keshet’s newest Israeli scripted espionage drama series Shkufim (False Flag). FIC is developing the US version of the series in-house.
