Fox Channels hires new German chief

Fox International Channels has hired Marco de Ruiter as its senior VP, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Ruiter worked for Viacom International Media Networks previously. He joined the company in 2002 and was COO for northern Europe from 2008, leaving last year.

At FIC he will run the company’s channels in German-speaking territories. Ruiter reports to Diego Londono, FIC’s COO, Europe and Africa.

He said: “With his many years of senior management experience in multinational corporations, Marco is the right man to sustainably position and expand our globally unique product in the German market. We are now in an excellent position to secure the continuing growth of Fox International Channels Germany.”

The appointment is FIC’s second major European hire in a week after it poached Christian Mörner from Discovery to run its Swedish business.
