UK regulator Ofcom has appointed Lesley McKenzie, the former group digital officer at subscription video-on-demand and DVD rental service Lovefilm to its content board.
McKenzie, who is currently chief operating officer for digital production studio Engage Sports Media, left Lovefilm in early 2012 following the departure of former CEO Simon Calver, a year after Amazon acquired the SVoD provider.
McKenzie joins fellow new content board members Andrew Chitty, founder and executive director of online healthcare specialist Digital Life Sciences and Andrew Colman, former head of news and current affairs for BBC Northern Ireland.
“I am delighted that we have three experienced individuals joining the Content Board,” said Tim Gardam, chairman of the content board and a member of the Ofcom board. “As we face the increasing challenge of content being delivered to people over a variety of platforms, I am confident that they will make a valuable contribution to the important work we have to do to ensure that standards and quality on television and radio are maintained.”
