Management shakeup at Telekom Austria’s Bulgarian, Serbian subsidiaries

Telekom Austria has announced a number of personal changes that will see the CEO of Vip mobile in the Republic of Serbia take over as CEO of Mobiltel in Bulgaria.

Thanasis Katsiroumpas will move between the two Telekom Austria subsidiaries at the beginning of October. His new remit will see him take on both chief executive and marketing responsibilities at Mobitel.

Current Mobiltel CEO Andreas Maierhofer, is returning to Austria after 10 years in executive management positions abroad and has decided not to extend his expiring contract, said Telekom Austria.

Mobitel chief marketing officer Martin Lippautz will also leave the company with Katsiroumpas to take on his duties, Telekom Austria added.

With the departure of Katsiroumpas from Vip mobile, chief finance officer Andreas Graf has been appointed as interim CEO and CMO of the company.

“Bulgaria is currently the most difficult market within the Telekom Austria Group.
