French rugby league to consult on future of TV rights

France’s Ligue Nationale de Rugby has launched a consultation on the future of TV rights to the matches played by the country’s top rugby clubs.

The organisation will hold meetings with broadcasters to discuss the future of the righs – currently held by Canal+ – on September 24-25. The discussions will reportedly cover the Top 14 top tier and Pro D2 second division games. The league is understood to believe that the rights are currently undervalued.
