French cable operator Numericable has selected Envivio software-based headend solutions for the SD and HD TV services component of its new triple-play service.
Numericable will use Envivio Muse encoders on the Envivio 4Caster G4 Intel-based appliance, managed and controlled using Envivio’s network management system, to deliver video in multiple adaptive bitrate profiles to customers of the new service.
“We were looking to work with an expert that could provide a flexible, fully converged solution to allow us to get our new service up and running quickly. Excellent video quality in combination with scalability and the ability to integrate the solution quickly were key criteria for us,” said Philippe Le May, Numericable CTO.
Julien Signès, Envivio’s president and CEO added: “While we have extensive deployments with telecom operators in France, we are very excited to be working with Numericable. This deployment is a real testament to our ability to work with a client who is focused on delivering a high-quality experience for consumers through triple-play services.”
Envivio Muse software supports live or on-demand video encoding and transcoding, with solutions designed to deliver best-in-class video quality for all codecs, including HEVC (H.265), AVC (H.264) and MPEG-2.
