Comcast and Time Warner joint venture RDK appoints manager

RDK Management, the new joint venture formed by Comcast and Time Warner Cable, has appointed Comcast’s vice-president of licensing and strategic development, Steve Heeb, as its general manager. 

RDK is a pre-integrated software bundle developed and licensed to create a common framework for powering IP or hybrid set-top boxes and gateway devices.

It is aimed at consumer electronics manufacturers, system-on-a-chip vendors and other software developers, system integrators and TV service providers.

Heeb brings more than 20 years of experience to the role and starts immediately. He will continue to hold his Comcast position, and other duties, in addition to his responsibilities for the RDK Management.

At the same time RDK Management has appointed S3 Group and itaas to provide critical support services to RDK and its licensees.
