Over half of German cable homes now digital

Over half of German cable households are now watching digital TV after the number of subscribers transferring to digital grew significantly over the last year, according to a study by the country’s state media authorities.

According to the figures, 55.9% of cable homes now take digital services, up 16% on 2012, compared with a growth rate of 13.4% in 2011-12.

The media authorities reported that 17.7 million households received TV via cable, compared with 17.6 million receiving satellite TV.
