Httv teams up with Quadrille for push-VOD

Hybrid TV technology specialist httv has teamed up with push video-on-demand specialist Quadrille to offer a push VOD platform for retail and pay TV markets.

Under the terms of the Partnership, httv and Quadrille will integrate their respective products: httvStream, httvLink and QuadriFast.

httvLink is an open-middleware solution for connected TV set-top boxes. Based on Linux and HTML5, it is compatible with the HbbTV standard. httvStream is httv’s HbbTV compliant play-out headend server.

QuadriFast is Quadrille off-the-shelf solution, allowing video content to be pushed on a set-top box over any network. QuadriFast uses the existing bandwidth available on the broadcast channels and  enables VOD on non-connected or bandwidth-limited networks.

Regis de Saint Girons, httv’s CEO, said: “Integration our STB solution and headend infrastructure with QuadriFast will be providing the best of breed to operators willing to quickly and efficiently increase their ARPU. It will also enable end-users to have an easy to use and appealing access to nonlinear contents.”

”The combination of httv’s and Quadrille’s technologies will allow the full use of the potential of HbbTV by offering to all households in a given market, connected or not, access to VOD using the same applications,” said Xavier Battas, Quadrille’s CEO.
