Sony launches PlayStation Vita TV

Sony has launched a new set-top device called the PlayStation Vita TV, which will let users play Vita, PSP, and PS1 games as well as access entertainment services like Hulu on their TV.

The device, which was unveiled at a press conference in Tokyo, is due to launch in Japan on November 14 ahead of overseas market rollouts – though no details of where it would launch next were given.

The small, 6.5 cm by 10.5 cm device will retail for a suggested price of JPY9,954 (€75.85).

At the same time Sony also launched a new version of its PS Vita handheld games console.

Earlier this year, Sony said that its new PS4 console would cost US$399 in the US and €399 in Europe when it launches ahead of Christmas, undercutting Microsoft’s forthcoming Xbox One device, which will cost US$499.99 and €499.
