Liberty Global is to invest in Rotterdam-based Metrological, one of the component suppliers to its Horizon advanced set-top box.
According to Metrological, Liberty Global has launched over 125 apps on the Metrological Application Platform to date.
As part of the investment transaction, Sander Vonk, director, Liberty Global Ventures, will join the board of Metrological. The other members of the board are Robert Jan Lijdsman, advisor at Allen & Overy, Walter Blom, independent advisor and former Chief Financial Officer of Ziggo and Estro Group, and Erwin van Dommelen, Managing Partner at Merapar.
