Elemental and Teleste deploy multiscreen for Anvia TV

Elemental has teamed up with Teleste to deploy an integrated multiscreen solution for Finnish digital-terrestrial platform provider Anvia TV.

The solution streams content for all-IP video delivery from the headend to homes for viewing on set-top boxes, PCs, and smart phones and tablets. Using Optimo transcoding technology, Anvia TV smoothly transitioned to a fully IP-based video infrastructure and expanded operations to support multiscreen services.

Earlier this year, Teleste and Elemental began co-marketing activities targeting the cable industry in Europe. The co-branded Teleste Optimo transcoder is a part of Teleste’s multiscreen solution for distributing TV channels and video services on DVB, IPTV and over-the-top television (OTT) networks. Transcoding is powered by Elemental Live video processing software to provide real-time video and audio encoding for linear pay TV broadcast as well as live streaming to new media platforms.

“Our customers expect premium-class services when it comes to the quality of the video content itself and the sophisticated functionality of the video provision infrastructure,” said Marianne Hynninen, CEO of Anvia TV. “Our strategy is designed to meet their expectations and we have noticed that our customers appreciate the choices we have made. Teleste’s multiscreen solution, powered by Elemental Technologies, is the perfect tool for us to execute our strategy as planned and deliver what our customers value most.”

Elemental is meanwhile collaborating with Miranda at IBC. The pair will jointly showcase an integrated multichannel playout, transcoding and monitoring solution will be featured on the Miranda stand. The demonstration will highlight the companies’ respective technologies with a combination of Miranda’s iTX integrated playout platform, Kaleido multiviewers and the iControl video network management systems with Elemental Live video encoders and Elemental Conductor video management system. The integration of these technologies is designed to satisfy the growing need for broadcasters to playout content to multiple platforms from an integrated environment and protects investments in video infrastructure as the industry evolves.

Separately, Elemental’s demonstrations at IBC will include 4Kp60 10-bit Ultra HD HEVC processing using Elemental Server, real-time 1080p60 HEVC encoding using Elemental Live and live HEVC encoding via Elemental Cloud. Elemental will also showcase a variety of live and file based workflows running on the Elemental Cloud platform.

Elemental will exhibit at IBC on stand 4.B75, Miranda will exhibit on stand 8.D41 and Teleste will exhibit on stand 4.B77
