French cable operator Numericable has launched a TV-via-ADSL service to extend its reach outside its existing network. The service is available to both unbundled and wholesale subscribers, the latter via a deal with OTT specialist TeVolution.
Numericable is making two offers available – Essentiel and Max. Essentiel provides 50 TV channels, internet access and unlimited calls to fixed lines in France. Max provides 83 TV services and also includes calls to mobiles in France. The TV offering also includes access to VOD and catch-up services.
To make the same service available to both unbundled and non-unbundled customers, Numericable has teamed up with TeVolution, which provides a hybrid IPTV box based on Technicolor’s SmartVision platform.
To receive HD channels available on the country’s digital-terrestrial platform, subscribers will need to have access to the over-the-air network via an aerial.
The Essentiel package costs €37.90 including set-top box rental, while Max is available for €45.90, with a 12-month promotion offering it for the reduced price of €40.90 including box rental.
