Aspiro TV to become Norigin Media after MBO

Multiscreen TV technology provider Aspiro TV’s management team have bought out the company and will relaunch it under the new name Norigin Media on September 1.

The new company’s senior management will comprise Espen Erikstad as CEO, Jussi Komone as chief operating officer and Ajey Anand as chief commercial officer.

Aspiro TV was owned by Schibsted Media-backed Aspiro Group. Norigin Media will be privately held. Ahead of the management buyout, Norigin Media was formed as a company in 2004 under the name Rubberduck Media Lab.

The new company will continue to offer OTT TV streaming solutions previously developed by Aspiro TV, including a hosted live TV headend to support streaming solutions in Europe and its TV Everywhere Hybrid Apps product, available worldwide.

“We pride ourselves in maintaining our 10-year industry leadership position, hosting TV and video solutions for service providers that span the entire multi-screen OTT TV value chain. We recently launched our Hybrid Apps product, which is already being endorsed by a number of large operators, broadcasters and media companies,” said Erikstad.
