Teracom posts mixed results

Swedish broadcast infrastructure and pay TV provider Teracom has posted mixed results for the first half of the year, with revenue growing marginally from SEK1.934 billion (€224 million) to SEK1.941 billion and operating income rowing from SEK202 million to SEK309 million.

Teracom reported some improvement at Boxer Denmark, which contributed to the improved operating profit. Although the unit’s results are still negative, Teracom said it had succeeded in establishing the brand and building the Danish operation’s customer base. Teracom plans to launch a sixth Danish digital-terrestrial multiplex in October, which will make it possible to increase the number of HD channels available in the country.

Teracom saw continued decline in its Boxer TV subscriber base in Sweden in the first half, although it said it had made a strong effort on improving quality of service, with some positive results.
