MultiChoice begins selling new HD DVR

South African pay TV operator MultiChoice has begun commercialising its new HD DVR set-top box, the DStv Explora.

The box in cludes a 2TB hard drive and has a top line retail price of ZAR2,499 (€190). The DStv Explora is currently available in South Africa but MultiChoice plans to make it available throughout its African footprint next month.

The box is manufactured by East London-based Vektronix under license from the UK’s Pace.
