Perform renews Premier League web clip deal

Digital sports media firm Perform has renewed its deal with the Premier League to produce and distribute football clips and highlights for the web and mobile devices.

The three-year global licensing deal will see Perform produce “near-live” highlights, previews and round-up clip packages, as well as a white label mobile and tablet app.

Perform will ingest, edit and encode video clips of all 380 matches per season and distribute to the Premier League’s network of over 40 web and mobile licensees around the world, including NBC, Al Jazeera, Canal Plus and Fox Sports Australia, the firm said.

“We strongly value our relationship with the Premier League and the production service we provide remains a core part of our business and is one that we are committed to developing further. We continue to increase investment in the staff, technology and production solutions required to deliver the Premier League to an ever expanding set of geographies and media platforms and look forward to another productive three years,” said Perform joint-CEO, Oliver Slipper.

Perform has been producing and distributing match highlights and features for the Premier League since 2007 and the renewal starts from the beginning of the 2013/14 season.
