Skype co-founder Friis’s Vdio expands into Canada

Vdio, the new video rental service for movies and TV shows from Skype co-founder Janus Friis, is expanding into Canada, having launched in the UK and US earlier this year.

The Canada launch is effective of this week Vdio announced on its blog, allowing viewers in the country to buy, rent, and share movies and shows with friends using the service.

The service, which was developed by the same team behind the 2010-launched music subscription service Rdio, first rolled out in the UK and US in April, before launching out of beta in June.
