Netflix signs exclusive deal with Fox

Netflix has inked a deal with Fox for Zooey Deschanel comedy series New Girl.

The US-only agreement gives the over the top service exclusive rights to the series and it has made the first season of the show available to its member from today.

Subsequent seasons will be launched later. The series stretches to two seasons thus far with US broadcast network News Corp-owned Fox greenlighting a third run, which will debut later this year.

The series is produced by ex News Corp executive Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television Distribution handles international sales.
