Canal+ Overseas, the international subsidiary for Canal+ Group, has acquired a 51% stake in Loret Group-owned ultramarine telecoms operator Mediaserv.
Jacques du Puy, CEO of Canal+ Overseas said that its strategy is to grow by developing new markets like Africa and Vietnam and it is witnessing “unprecedented growth in broadband access and TV deals.”
Mediaserv delivers digital TV, internet and telephony services in the French language territories of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guyana and Reunion.
The deal is subject to competition authority regulation and is due to complete by the end of the year.
