MultiChoice adds True Movies 1 to DStv

South African pay TV broadcaster MultiChoice has added a new movie channel, True Movies 1, to the DStv pay TV line-up.

The channel, which is already available via the DStv platform elsewhere in Africa, will be offered to South African subscribers as a standard-definition service.

The channel, owned by Moving Movies, is also available in the UK as a free-to-view service.

“We wanted to give our DStv Premium customers a movie channel like no other – True Movies 1 is a perfect compliment to the almost 15 movie channels available to our DStv Premium customers on DStv,” said Collins Khumalo, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.

Separately, MultiChoice plans to add Fox Crime to its line up of channels on DStv from July 9.
