Norway-based social TV platform never.no has appointed former Acision executive Taco Nieuwenhuis as chief technology officer.
The firm said that the hire would help never.no to expand its social TV services and solutions across the globe.
Nieuwenhuis will be responsible for the company’s portfolio roadmap, its architecture and the technology strategy. He will also guide product development and release management and represent never.no’s technology to partners, customers, and the public.
never.no’s interactive ‘TV. Mobile. Social. 1Framework’ technology connects fragmented media platforms across broadcast TV systems, mobile, and social media platforms and enables real-time viewer participation, social TV, and synchronised companion apps.
The firm’s global customer base includes brands such as Al Jazeera, BBC, CBC, ESPN, Fox Sports, MBC, TV 2 Norge, TV2 Danmark, Turner Sports, Univision and Viasat. Nieuwenhuis worked at Acision for 17 years, during which time the firm changed its name from CMG and Logica.
