Cable operator optical access solution provider, Aurora Networks has launched a standards-compliant optical beat interference-free (OBI-free) Radio Frequency over Glass (RFoG) solution.
Announcing the release at ANGA, Aurora said the RFoG solution makes rolling out higher data in the upstream much more feasible and practical for operators, allowing them to maximise the benefits of DOCSIS 3.0 technology.
Aurora also claimed that its OBI-free RFoG solution is the first and only standards-compliant solution that meets the complete RFoG Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) specification.
RFoG is a deep-fibre network design, first introduced in 2006.
