The place in Russia’s second digital-terrestrial multiplex vacated by TV Tsentr (TV Centre) will be filled by September at the latest, according to regulator Roskomnadzor.
The vacant slot was opened up when president Vladimir Putin decreed that TV Tsentr would have the status of a mandatory nationwide channel and would be moved to the first digital multiplex. Channels in the second multiplex are not mandated for redistribution by cable and satellite operators.
Applications for the slot will be open until May 28, with the winner announced on June 11.
