RTRS opens applications for second multiplex

Russian broadcast infrastructure provider RTRS has launched a call for applications to build and operate a network for the country’s second digital-terrestrial multiplex. The competition is open until May 28, with the winner expected to be announced on June 11.

Work on the network is expected to take place in three stages, with the initial stage seeing the completion of work on 1,508 transmitter sites in major cities and frontier areas to be completed in December. The second phase, covering 1,794 sites, is scheduled to be completed in December next year, with the final phase, involving 1,654 sites, to be completed a year later.
