Lagardère names channels executive

Lagardère has named Gérald-Brice Viret as deputy head of TV channels at its Lagardère Active arm.

Viret succeeds Antoine Villeneuve, who has left the group to pursue personal projects.

Viret, who will be charged with developing the activities of channels Bulli, Canal J, Tiji and June as well as MCM, Mezzo and Mezzo Live HD in France and internationally, has previously headed channels including NRJ 12, Chérie 25, NRJ Hits, TMC et Voyage, and led the group charged with preparing for the launch of digital-terrestrial broadcasting in France up until its dissolution in 2009.
