Parties looking to start up a local TV station in 30 UK areas, including Cambridge, Aberdeen, Bangor and York have until tomorrow to register their interest with communications regulator Ofcom.
The deadline relates to a second wave of local channels, in localities that also include Basingstoke, Guildford, Inverness, Luton, Maidstone, Middlesbrough, Plymouth, Reading, Stoke on Trent and Swansea.
Last month Ofcom completed the first phase of local TV licensing which saw 19 licences awarded across the country – including in major cities like London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Sheffield, Leeds, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
