BBC appoints music TV head

The BBC has appointed Mark Cooper as head of music television, overseeing a newly combined department that will include classical and popular music coverage.

Cooper, a 23-year BBC veteran who is currently creative head of music entertainment, takes up his post with immediate effect. The new department will be responsible for producing all in-house music content for BBC channels.
