Conax partners with Columbus on digital IP video platform

Telenor-owned content security specialist Conax has signed a commercial deployment deal with wholesale telecoms provider Columbus International for its digital IP video platform, Xtend Multiscreen. 

The platform supports live TV, VOD and a new network PVR feature, all using adaptive bit rate technology. These features are being made available on hybrid digital STBs and multiscreen devices.

Columbus plans to launch the digital video platform in Barbados this month, with roll outs to surrounding islands including Grenada, Jamaica, Trinidad and Curacao, expected in the coming months.
