Telenor Sweden is to migrate its multiscreen TV platform to Ericsson’s platform.
Telenor Sweden will use the Ericsson platform to deliver a range of services including catch-up TV on multiple devices and companion screen applications for content search and social recommendation.
“Sweden is a highly advanced TV market, with a proliferation of OTT providers using Sweden as a pilot market for new TV services. Meeting our customers’ expectations for TV services on any devices, anywhere through a solution that offers consistent, high quality TV experiences is imperative,” said Mats Lundquist, director, broadband and TV, Telenor Sweden. “Ericsson’s considerable experience and innovative TV solutions will help us ensure that Telenor’s customers get the TV experience they desire.”
Telenor Sweden operates the Canal Digital Kabel-TV cable network as well as B2 Bredband/Bredbandsbolaget. The company has about 262,000 pay TV subscribers including 74,000 IPTV customers in the country.
