The Finnish-based creator of the Angry Birds franchise, Rovio, has partnered with video specialists Brightcove to add its recently-launched animated series into its game apps.
Brightcove will use its Brightcove Video Cloud service to deliver the Angry Birds Toons video series to its tablet and smartphone apps, with Rovio to release a new episode each Sunday.
“By partnering with Brightcove, we are able to quickly ramp our online video efforts and deliver on-demand episodes to viewers across devices, while ensuring a high quality viewing experience,” said Nick Dorra, Rovio’s head of animation.
Last month Rovio launched the Angry Birds series, securing carriage with 14 linear broadcasters around the world and a number of online and digital platforms – including Samsung smart TVs and Roku boxes.
