Participant Media, the film and TV production company behind movies including Lincoln and An Inconvenient Truth, is launching its own cable network called Pivot this summer.
The US network will target a core audience of millennials, is due to launch the channel on August 1 and has pledged 300 hours of original programming in its first year.
Pivot will be available through domestic pay TV operators along with a TV Everywhere rights, allowing subscribers to stream the network, live and on-demand to any device. It will also offer broadband-only subscription, including a linear stream of the channel.
The network’s first six greenlit series include talkshow TakePart Live; a variety show created by and starring actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt called HitRECord on TV!; and a reality series called Jersey Strong.
