The audience for video viewing on mobile devices grew year-on-year by 162% to 48.1 million people in December across five main European markets, according to Comscore.
The research firm’s 2013 Europe Digital Future in Focus report also said that online video viewer growth on PC in the EU5 – Germany, UK, Italy, France and Spain – also grew by 5% to 158.9 million viewers.
Google’s YouTube was “still king of online video” accounting for more viewers than any other site in all of the five countries, while total mobile audience crossed 240 million mark in these markets.
