BBC Worldwide announces global bosses following restructure

BBC Worldwide has announced a raft of new senior management positions following its recently announced restructure. Paul Dempsey, president, global markets, has appointed regional bosses for western Europe, central and eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia.

The commercial arm of the UK public broadcaster announced a wide-ranging restructure last year and these appointments mark the implementation of that process, which sees control of the international businesses devolved to the various operating regions.

Accordingly, four new regional executive VPs have been appointed.

David Weiland will be executive VP for western Europe; Ian McDonough for CEE; Joyce Yeung for Asia and Fred Medina for Latin America.

All were existing Worldwide employees and all will report to Dempsey. He said: “We’ve got big plans to build the fan base for BBC brands all around the world. These senior level appointments are a sign of our ambition.”
