Romanian pay TV provider Romtelecom has appointed Nikolai Beckers, formerly chief executive of information and communications technology firm T-Systems France, as its CEO.
In his new role Beckers also takes on CEO duties for Cosmote Romania, Romtelecom’s mobile arm, and replaces the former CEO of each Stefanos Theocharopoulos.
Theocharopoulos now becomes group chief technology and operations officer for landline and mobile at the OTE Group, the parent firm that owns a majority stake in Romtelecom.
Theocharopoulos has been CEO at Cosmote Romania since 2008, adding Romtelecom CEO duties in 2011. Beckers joined T-Systems in 2011 and previously worked as CEO at Deutsche Telekom France and as chief financial officer at T-Online France.
