Apple is reportedly in talks to carry HBO Go on the Apple TV platform in the US by the middle of this year.
According to Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the plan, The deal will enable Apple TV users to access some 1,700 films and TV shows from HBO. Apple TV already includes Netflix and Hulu Plus but has lacked HBO, which is available via rival over-the-top TV devices Roku and the Microsoft Xbox 360, until now.
HBO Go is only available via its OTT partners to customers who subscribe to the HBO network via their pay TV service provider, which would mark the first time that Apple TV has carried an app that required a pay TV subscription.
