Belgian cable operator Telenet has extended its contract for English Premier League rights for another three years, covering seasons 2013/14-2015/16.
The deal will mean that English Premier League coverage will remain available on Telenet’s subscription-based sports channel, Sporting Telenet.
“Our customers tell us that they enjoy the English Premier League very much. In particular because they can now follow the Belgian players more closely. That is one of the reasons why Telenet made a great effort to retain the broadcasting rights to the Premier League. With the Premier League rights secured Sporting Telenet will remain the channel with the best sports offer in Flanders,” said Telenet’s senior vice-president, public affairs and media management Ann Caluwaerts.
