A+E Networks UK’s History and Bio UK channels recorded their highest-rating year ever in 2012. History saw its overall ratings up 35%. Bio saw its ratings for the past 12 months up 34% on the previous year.
Internationally, History in Poland saw ratings grow by 219% on the previous year, while in South Africa, ratings were up by 45%. Sister channel Crime & Investigation Network meanwhile also pulled in bigger audiences in South Africa after the channel moved to top position in the factual section of the MultiChoice EPG, increasing its ratings 32% in the last quarter of 2012.

History is the fastest growing factual channel in the pay TV world and is now the second most popular in the factual genre. Our most popular franchises Storage Wars and Pawn Stars regularly feature in the top five programmes in all of pay TV in their premiere slots.”
