UPC Slovakia to sell set-tops to subscribers

Cable operator UPC Slovakia is to begin selling set-tops and other equipment including routers as an alternative to providing them for a recurring rental fee.

The Liberty Global unit will begin selling equipment for a one-off fee to subscribers in March in response to customer demand, it said. Customers will continue to be able to rent equipment as part of their subscription package if they so choose.
