New deals for Sundance Channel

AMC Networks has concluded several new carriage deals for Sundance Channel Global and has picked up five Sundance Film Festival movie titles for the channel.

In Hungary, the Sundance Channel is launching as a subtitled linear channel on Magyar Telecom via cable and IPTV services. In Spain, the channel will launch in the coming weeks on cable operator R. In Asia, Sundance Channel and WE tv recently launched on Sky Philippines and Thai pay TV MeTV.

Robert Redford, founder of Sundance Channel, said: “I’m excited that the strong growth of Sundance Channel is helping independent filmmakers share these stories with even bigger audiences worldwide. Emerging talent will continue to flourish in the mountains of Utah and far beyond.”

The Sundance movies it has acquired are: Computer Chess, Halley, I Used to be Darker, It Felt Like Love and This is Martin Bonner. The channel will show them throughout Europe and Asia in conjunction with the second annual Sundance London Film & Music Festival in late April.
