Chinese technology giant UTStarcom-affiliated services provider iTV Media is to deploy IPTV and video-on-demand services in Spain through a strategic partnership with Mira TV. The pair will partner with over-the-top and IPTV providers in Spain to deliver services.
iTV Media launched an over-the-top service in 2011 to provide Mandarin-language programming to Chinese speakers in North America, following up with MeTV, an IPTV service launched in Thailand last October.
William Wong, UTStarcom’s CEO, said, “This is another important milestone in iTV Media’s growth. It is also the second major agreement for iTV Media in two months, making it indicative of the solid demand the business is seeing in the international marketplace.”
