TV technology company Access has launched the NetFront Browser NX 3.0 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The WebKit-based browser, designed to enable delivery of multiscreen content and applications via consumer electronics devices, broadcasting, in-car systems and other sectors, features enhanced HTML5 support, according to Access.
Separately, Access has teamed up with Metrological to offer cloud-based TV app stores. The integration of Access’s NetFront Browser NX with Metrological’s TV App-Store platform is designed to provide a software and hardware-agnostic joint solution that enables TV operators and consumer electronics device manufacturers to offer consumers a range of interactive applications, according to the pair.
Istanbul-based set-top provider AirTies has meanwhile integrated Access’s NetFront Living Connect product with its home gateways and set-top boxes to enable DLNA-based media sharing throughout the home.The solution features digital media rendering and ‘play to’ functionality which enables the control of content from external devices.
