UK subscribers plan to downgrade, says survey

About 10.3% of UK pay TV subscribers plan to change their service over the next 12 months, according to research by Oliver & Ohlbaum’s media strategy arm.

While one in ten pay TV subscribers plan to change their subscription, there is less evidence that pay TV subscribers are churning, with a significant number planning to reduce their expenditure by downshifting to cheaper packages. About 16% of those surveyed said they were likely to buy a YouView box, enabling them to receive connected TV services alongside Freeview channels.
