Turner names new international communications chief

Turner Broadcasting System has appointed Oliver Herrgesell as international senior vice-president of communications.

Herrgesell will serve as Turner Broadcasting’s chief communications and public relations executive in markets outside the US, with responsibility for developing communications strategy and overseeing the execution of messaging related to Turner’s international business portfolio. He will be based in London at Turner International’s EMEA headquarters.

Herrgesell was previously executive vice-president of communications, public affairs and marketing for RTL Group in Luxembourg.

“This position and Oliver’s professional stature reflect the importance of our international business interests,” said Jeff Matteson, senior vice-president of communications for Turner Broadcasting System.  “Oliver brings experience, standing and a long working relationship with Gerhard Zeiler to a senior leadership role that will have significant influence on the company’s continuing efforts to position, advantage and grow its international entertainment, animation and news brands’ profile and collective success.”
