PT ships half a million Motorola boxes

Portugal Telecom has shipped its 500,000th Motorola IPTV set-top box.

The telco operates IPTV services under the Meo brand and has around 1.2 million subscribers. Motorola Mobility has supplied set-top boxes to Portugal Telecom since the launch of its TV platform, initially providing VIP1200E and VIP1216E boxes.

Since then, Motorola has added the VIP1232 set-top, a HD DVR, and has shipped over half a million boxes to Meo customers.
