Netia grows its TV base in disappointing quarter

Polish service provider Netia grew its TV customer base to 72,805 at the end of September, up 57% year-on-year and up 2% on the previous quarter.

Netia had 890,000 fixed broadband customers at the end of September, flat year-on-year and down 2% quarter-on-quarter, which it attributed in part to increased competition.

Mirosław Godlewski, Netia’s CEO, said he was disappointed with the peformance of the company’s customer segment, while noting that its business segment had achieved growth in difficult market conditions.

Netia posted revenues of PLN1.6 billion (€385 million) for the first nine months, up 34% year-on-year, while EBITDA was PLN447 million, up 49%, masking a relatively poor quarter-on-quarter performance for the three months to September.
