TV2 launches Hungarian network on UPC Direct

Hungarian DTH operator UPC Direct is to start carrying ProSiebenSat1’s new general entertainment channels SuperTv2 from next month.

SuperTv2 will launch this autumn with movies, series and locally produced content including Super Mokka, Hal a tortán and A Nagy Duet. It will be available to UPC Direct’s Medium and Direct Plus package subscribers.

The channel will be operated by TV2, a broadcaster owned by ProSiebenSat1 that launched female-skewed network FEM3 in 2010, followed by male-skewed channel PRO4 in 2011.

“We are pleased to again enriching our line-up further by adding the SuperTv2 channel. This is the fifth new channel we have added to the Medium and Direct Plus packages in the last two months clearly showing how determined we are to provide key content to Hungarian subscribers. These additions will truly enhance our customers viewing options,” said Zoltan Pinkola, director of marketing and sales Hungary for UPC DTH.  “The Direct Medium and Direct Plus packages contain the widest variety of channels – including sports, movies and children’s programming – available from any satellite TV provider in Hungary. The market confirms that UPC Direct’s packages are excellent value for money and with this addition we will provide even more choice for our customers in Hungary.”
